[For Poe Dameron]
Apr. 11th, 2016 09:03 pm Rey was finding she didn't quite know what to do with 'leisure time.' She had always wanted so much of it back on Jakku, time where she wasn't struggling through sand and unbearable sunlight for hours in hopes of earning enough food for the next day. In Darrow, even on the days where she felt like she was actually making progress on the Falcon, Rey found herself with too many hours and either too little to occupy herself or simply too much. There were games on the phone she'd been given, films available to watch, and thousands of other sundry diversions. Sometimes it was too much and Rey found herself not doing any of it, simply sitting on the Falcon's lowered ramp and watching the world.
It was a precarious business on the still-tilted Falcon, Rey's legs dangling a precipitous few feet about the ground even at the lowest step, but she was used to that kind of thing. It almost felt familiar, homey, sitting there with a hot thermos of coffee on a cool, gray day.
In the distance, Rey thought she could see someone and lifted her head to see.

Things get interesting when the Millennium Falcon crash lands in Darrow and Rey meets Eowyn, Galen Marek, Galen Tyrol, Isabelle Lightwood, Kara Thrace, Maria Deluca, Matthias Helvar, Robin Hood, and a very enthusiastic Tim Drake. The next day, Poe Dameron joins her in Darrow, best day ever! Meeting Han Solo and then Luke Skywalker are a lot stranger and more intimidating.

Rey gets to meet both Blue Sargent and cats for the first time. She also learns from Galen just what the Force can do. Perhaps even more fun, she also gets her first taste of pie, care of Eric Bittle.

Rey and her stomach continue their movable feast at Founder's Day with Matthias, though she isn't sure what to make of Balthier.

Rey wasn't sure she should feel so at home doing this. After all, hadn't she finally accepted that she was more than a scavenger from Jakku? Yet here she was, carefully picking her way through one of Darrow's junkyards. There was money in her pack to trade for anything she might find useful, which was strange in and of itself. Instead of hot, hungry, and thirsty, she'd woken up in her bunk on the Falcon in a warm blanket and eaten food she'd been able to purchase without work. As strange and unrecognizable as these credits were, she was glad to have them.
Most of the dormant machines here were terrestrially bound and centuries behind the technology she needed, but Rey wasn't deterred. She'd built her speeder out of spare parts and junk and she could do it again. If nothing else, she could pick up a few spare parts to tinker with. She'd need to familiarize herself with the parts and engines of Darrow.
By midday, she was getting frustrated, though it was nowhere near the frustration she'd felt on Jakku's worst days. Sitting at the edge, she checked the list on her datapad once again and added a few notes.

[For Han, Backdated to after Rey's Debut]
Mar. 5th, 2016 03:05 amPutting the fires out had been the first step. As she'd extinguished the flames and smoke, she'd assessed the Falcon for damage. Unsurprisingly, much of the starboard side was physically damaged and internal components didn't give her reason to be optimistic. From what she'd gathered from Han, even on its best days, the ship had run on a delicate balance on wires, couplings, and bonding tape in exactly the right places.
On a newer ship, the Falcon might have survived the crash, but now she was left working from scratch. Walking up its tilted side, Rey now sat on the edge of the ship and looked over the notes she'd made on her datapad where she was making lists of parts needed, parts that could be salvaged, repairs needed, and on and on.
